From the station to Kununurra (Al)

REALLY interim type post now so warning.... expect lots of untidied up pics and not much comprehensible text!

So....

After a 'rid the demons of west Cable Beach' run we headed out from the perfectly named Broome Time apartment after having to Not Go To Derby because there was nowhere at all to stay on the peninsula. A bit emblematic of our NW WA experience really. BUT. After a couple of hours of dull driving we started to see more interesting stuff

Fitzroy Crossing was sobering but the country from to Halls Creek and then to the station where we camped was fab!

Other people thought so too. Boab trees and termite mounds that looked like sunburned fat women! Apologies for the non Pc moment there.

The station was actually pretty good. Great Kelpie who did the rounds checking out new smells and trying to score treats. Think he's a gourmet as he made a beeline for us during our arvo Serrano and Jarlsberg snack. Or he just fell in love with Bean .....

A beautiful fireside evening and sunrise pack up. The best roll of BT and if the therm rests ever. Quite appropriate given that's it with the tenting for this trip.

Today we had the prettiest drive from the station to Kununurra. Narrow bendy roads but truly lovely. Even with the white van man who thought he was in Duel.

Here's lovely too!

Great room. Even the industrial estate we drove to, which had an artisans studio and store where Bean bought me a black freshwater pearl leather thong bracelet, had an amazing backdrop . . . it's right next to a national park.

Earlier we wandered down to the lake for a late sunset (we were too late in the event)

And now we're chilling on the terrace outside our room, listening to the birds, bats, cane toads.   But. Thankfully.  No caravanners .

Life is good indeed.
