Yes it was a bloody fantastic meal. Dessert, main, wine, you name it and it was all wonderful. Definitely better than noodles. A great evening indeed. Actually, the whole experience of being in the Barossa valley was exceptionally rewarding. I'd forgot to mention that we were actually at Jacob's Creek. Yep the one and only. I had wondered where my money had been going. (Actually we didn't buy any JC's stuff but we wont mention that.) Look, here's a picture to prove it: At Jacob's Creek with none of his wine:
We spent the night with our heating on full to try and prepare ourselves for the future. We also had to try and dry things out a bit. Who would have thought it was only two days worth of camping - pathetic really. Here's our hotel room:
The next morning while I was thinking about going for a run, Al actually did. I then contemplated things like, no matter how I tried to ignore an aching tooth, it still ached. (Yep tooth problems stated on day 2!) Not bad but irritating. I had mentioned it to Al but reckoned it would probably go away.
We met with Lisa and Neil or Neil and Lisa, depending on which way you were facing, for breakfast. Again, all wonderful and there was a good selection of soft stuff.
We then traveled in convoy (sounds a bit cooler than 'I followed the blue car') to some more wineries. First was Keller Meister ...

...where we bought some boxes of a very nice Pinot Gris. I also bought a thin puffer jacket ('vest' for you aussies). Al was buying T-shirts at various places. We're suckers for 'the merch')
Then our wonderful hosts recommended Chateau Tarunadada (or something like that). It was a great place. I've never seen so many wine barrels of all sizes in one place. (Well, not 'all' sizes, but you know what I mean - look):
Aha! - Chateau Tanunda - that's it. They also had a pretty cool hand operated corking machine that Neil fell in love with - and I can't say I blame him. I think I need one at home now. Having said that, screw tops are pretty convenient.
So come midday we had to get on our way to Whyalla which was around 370km away. (For your convenience please see images below. Thank you.)
Actually that's not very helpful so here's a link to Whyalla.

But first: We decided that our gas heater attachment was quite useless during times of non real fire. Luckily we had found a place about 30KM away that sold a Mr Heater Portable Buddy (yes that's right, it is indeed American named). This had had quite good reviews so after calling Spike at the RV spare parts shop we headed off to collect.
Neil and Lisa (or Lisa and Neil) headed back to ... well.. I suppose wherever they came from really ... Adelaide -ish. A very big thank you to the the both of them for letting us be part of their civilization. I hope they recover from their ordeal soon.
Because they had done such a wonderful job we gifted them our magnificent camping chairs. (Ok, actually we had decided these things were way too big for our needs and we needed something a lot smaller. I should re-phrase that last sentence.)
Because they had done such a wonderful job we burdened them with our bulky camping chairs.
Plus we needed more space for all the wine. Priorities and all that.
Our ETA was now rather later than first planned and the idea of trying to set up camp in the dark at Whyalla was scrapped. We were going to arrange a cheap cabin instead.
I then found out I had a PA in the car. As we drove the countless miles of long long long straight roads Al got the phone and Ipad out and before I knew it we had a cabin booked in Whyala and I also a dental appointment for this wednesday at 9.45 in Port Lincoln. Oh joy.
When asking if she did a range of camping equipment she got the sat nav (phone version) to point us to a Port Augusta camping shop en route. We are now proud owners of two cheaper smaller and probably more uncomfortable camping chairs.
We need to re-organise our packing system with the new chairs and extra liquid refreshment on board so we will have plenty of time to do this tomorrow morning.
Here's the 'mobile office in cabin mode':
Here's the heater that has been tested and burnt my hand because I touched it to see how hot it was:
And finally, here's a bottle of WTF.
Cheers!
